There is No Time Like the Present to Jump in The Driver's Seat and Take the Wheel!

“How come I always have to take medicine” and “I can eat that, I’m taking a blood thinner ”

The two comments I heard happened within 15 minutes each other. It viscerally disturbed me.

I was spending the weekend with some friends and family a few weeks ago and noticed that one of my daughter’s friends who I see very often always has a cough. When I say always, I mean always!

I talked to the mom having his nervous system checked for stress as well as some simple dietary modifications for 30 days.  Her answer “I should have given him a nebulizer treatment this morning” It really pains me to see this child (age 4), who is so young thinking that he requires medication to be healthy.

The second comment was from a middle-aged woman who was advised not to eat to many raw greens or green supplement because she is already taking a blood thinner. You see…raw vegetables have a similar effect.

Get “proactive” and stop being “reactive”

Most of us are not moving enough to keep your body and overall health from detracting. For primitive man a day of work meant hunting and gathering.  A lot of us drive to work, grab a coffee and bagel, and sit in traffic for a while before getting to the office. We 9 to 5 it in a stressful environment, punch out, sit in rush hour traffic, and then pick up dinner on the way home. Today, work is done sitting down for most of us.

Again, get “proactive” and stop being “reactive”.

To most people and doctors, the goal of health care is simply, “Feeling no pain and owning no diagnosis.” The MAJOR problem with that goal is that while you just might achieve that – it can really mean almost nothing at all! By the time you have a symptom – cells and body parts have not been functioning properly or not receiving what they have needed for a long time. Just because you feel good, doesn't mean that you are healthy. Symptoms manifest themselves after you have already been sick for a period of time. Many diseases, such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and arthritis, among many others, do not have any warning signs. The most advanced and powerful tests and regular checkups are a good thing, but still cannot do much more than detect any disease or illness until after it has been developing in your body.

I was raised as I child in what I refer to as “the medical Model”  (my father was a pharmacist) which is where the majority of you reading this currently live in. What is the medical Model? Waiting till you have a symptom until you go to you doctor. If you live your life this way and care for your children in this manner you are not practicing “Healthcare” but instead “disease care”. Currently 98% of all disease processes have no symptoms associated and in most cases it’s too late, i.e. Cancer and Heart Disease. Many of these processes take not months but sometimes years or decades before your body makes aware of them.

So, you're probably thinking, "That's not me, I don't have Heart Disease, cancer, Arthritis, or Alzheimer’s.  But it is you.  Just think about how many people you know or who have heard of being diagnosed with cancer in the past 12 months?

Please….

Unless you're doing something radically different than the people around you, it's you.

The purpose of this was to give you a punch in the arm and wake you up!
